【Reflection】
The program successfully informed many visitors about the
concept of TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY as a "field for
experimentation for enriching lives 100 years into the
future." Following the closure of the Expo, panelists
offered diverse ideas on how to pass on the Expo's legacy
through the city, and concrete ideas were proposed by the
co-creation partners and challenge participants who attended
the event.
In the TEAM EXPO Discussion, city officials responsible for
various areas spoke about what can be done now for the next
100 years regarding the themes of previous
sessions—"Considering Environmental Harmony with the
Community," "Considering How to Convey
'Culture'," and "Considering Future
Lifestyles." Together with the attendees, we envisioned
the future of the city.
After the discussion, visitors wrote their "ideas and
expectations for the future TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY" on the
interactive "Co-creation Board" set up at the venue,
and we received a great number of aspirations. At the panel
discussion, as part of the "SDGs + Beyond: Inochi
Kirameku Future Society Week," we discussed "what
can be done at TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY to achieve SDGs +
Beyond" with the participants. The discussion involved
defining SDGs + Beyond within the panelists' respective
fields of expertise and exploring future urban development
initiatives, specifically the outlook for efforts at TAKANAWA
GATEWAY CITY.
The panelists had a lively discussion about the potential of
the city, concluding with a declaration of action to take a
step-by-step approach to realizing SDGs + Beyond through
initiatives at TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, thereby successfully
promoting the city as a place for co-creation that will
inherit the legacy of the Expo.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
After the Expo concludes, the first of a series of related
events will be "TEAM EXPO REUNION in TAKANAWA GATEWAY
CITY," held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at a facility
within TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY.
This event will provide a venue for corporations and
organizations wishing to continue their co-creation efforts to
look back on their "TEAM EXPO 2025" activities and
seek future activity locations, partners, and ideas.
This event marks the first step of co-creation within the
city, setting the stage for TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY—a field for
experimentation for enriching lives 100 years into the
future—where various initiatives aimed at solving social
issues will be implemented with co-creation partners,
co-creation challenge participants, and other business
partners involved with the city.
In May 2026, a multi-generational and multi-cultural workshop,
"MIRA-GE seed in TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY," hosted by
co-creation partner Link and Motivation Inc., is scheduled to
take place at "Gateway Park," the city's
largest event space. This event will center on elementary and
junior high school students who will lead the future, bringing
together people of diverse ages and cultures to discuss future
lifestyles.
Moving forward, as TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY embodies the concept
of a "field for experimentation for enriching lives 100
years into the future," which aligns with the
"People's Living Lab" (Future Society's
Experimental Ground) concept of the Osaka-Kansai Expo and the
"TEAM EXPO 2025" policy, we will inherit the legacy
of the Expo's "challenge to co-create the future
with people around the world" and continue working with
co-creation challenge participants and co-creation partners to
solve social issues within the city, even after the
Expo's conclusion.
