On Monday, May 22, 2023, the Federal Republic of Germany held a presentation in Osaka City to announce the theme and concept of the pavilion to be exhibited at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
The German Pavilion is called “Wa! Germany” and will focus on the circular economy as its main theme in terms of architecture and exhibition content. Among the topics of sustainability, the circular economy is a theme of particular interest to Germany, and the German Pavilion aims to convey this to visitors in an easy-to-understand manner.
The German Pavilion is based on the basic concept of circulation and the co-creation of a recycling-oriented society. The circle shape representing circularity, which is at the core of the exhibition concept, is incorporated into the design of the pavilion itself, the visitor experience, the design, and the display of technology and visions of the future.
