The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition and KUMONOS Corporation have signed the first sponsorship contract for participation in the Expo site development.
From February 9 to March 7, 2022, the Association solicited proposals for sponsorship for articles (construction materials and equipment, etc.), services (surveying, investigation, simulation, etc.), and construction that are necessary for site development and parking lot development outside the Expo site. The Association received applications from various companies and organizations.
KUMONOS Corporation, which has concluded the contract as the first company, will sponsor the provision of services covering all aspects of surveying, such as surveying necessary for infrastructure development work at the Expo site and plot boundary surveying for pavilions and other facilities.
The Association is currently having discussions with a number of companies toward concluding sponsorship contracts, and will announce new contracts as soon as the agreements are reached.

Survey for venue infrastructure development work (including creation of 3D data) and plot boundary survey for such as pavilion
Using the latest equipment such as UAV* (drone) and mobile 3D laser scanner, the Corporation will conduct 3D surveys of the entire Expo site. The survey results are used for setting the ground height in the Expo site infrastructure development and for ICT construction by using automatically controlling construction machinery. In addition, the 3D point cloud data provided is expected to contribute to the Virtual Expo by applying it to VR/AR technology.

*Acceptance of applications for participation in the Expo site development ended already. However, depending on the status of the site development, additional applications may be solicited.
