The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) has established an AAM Preparing Conference on advanced air mobility (AAM) to realize the operation of eVTOLs between two ports inside and outside the site of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”). In the conference, the issues of ports outside the Expo site and other requirements are to be discussed.
At the first meeting held on February 27 this year, the conference members discussed the ideal and target for actual operations of eVTOLs and the specific locations of ports outside the Expo site, with the aim of realizing eVTOLs operation between two ports for the Expo.
They have also agreed that for a start, the eastern part of Osaka Castle (Morinomiya), the Osaka Port area (Central Pier), Sakurajima area, and the Kansai International Airport will be discussed as candidate locations for ports in Osaka.
Through discussions in this conference, the Association will continue to discuss and coordinate to realize the operation of eVTOLs between two ports for the Expo.
