The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) held a ground-breaking ceremony at the site of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”) in Yumeshima, two years before the opening of the Expo.
The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by a total of 255 guests, such as government officials including Cabinet members, members of the Diet, local assembly members, prefectural governors, mayors of ordinance-designated cities, and officials of the Association such as Official Participants, exhibition participant companies, sponsor companies, contributors, constructors, producers, senior advisers and ambassadors.
In addition, 16 officials including Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio, NISHIMURA Yasutoshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry; and OKADA Naoki, Minister for the World Expo 2025, performed a groundbreaking ceremony to pray for the safety and success of the construction work for the Expo.
The Association will hand over the site to the Official Participants and exhibitors of pavilions for private sectors in April, and construction of the venue will proceed in full swing.
