The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) is now accepting applications for a select number of nicknames for the EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet Project, which is planned as a method to build nationwide momentum for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”) and effectively raise awareness for Expo participation.
EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet is a unique smartphone service at the Expo that aims to help promote a cashless Japan. Benefits such as “unique e-money”, “unique points”, and “unique NFT” which is provided by EXPO status earned based on usage will be provided as a financial service.
As part of business collaboration services, the Association will collaborate with Expo projects such as pavilions, as well as with external businesses that contribute to building momentum for the Expo. In order to gain widespread support from everyone, the Association will promote the Expo in various settings before the opening, and cultivate a willingness to get involved in the Expo.
In addition to widely promoting the EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet, the Association is inviting professionals and amateurs alike to submit nicknames for “unique e-money” and “unique points”, with the aim of operating a service that will be familiar to many people.
The Excellence Award will be announced around the end of October 2023.

・Both professionals and amateurs are welcome. No experience or awards history is required.
・Applicants must be 18 years old or older as of April 1, 2023.
・Applicants who are Japanese nationals or foreign nationals residing in Japan (must have a certificate of residence in Japan) are eligible.
・Only individual applications are accepted. Group applications are not acceptable.

※ Applications by mail, fax, e-mail, or in person will not be accepted.
※ Please apply as early as possible, as the site may become congested and more difficult to access as the deadline approaches.
● Please enter the following into the application form: ① nickname proposal for “unique e-money”, ② nickname proposal for “unique points”, and ③ “Concept of the nicknames”
※ Do not include any information in the works submitted (nicknames and concept) such as names that can identify an applicant.
● Please submit the above items ①, ②, and ③ as one set.
Excellence Award: 300,000 JPY
・To ensure fairness, applicants’ names will be withheld from the judging process.
・Screening and selection process: ①checking requirements (confirmation of application format requirements by the office), ② first-round screening (selection committee members narrow down the entries), ③intellectual property-related research (confirmation of trademark rights, etc. by lawyers, etc. designated by the Association), ④ final selection committee (selection of the Excellence Award-winning works from among the final entries by selection committee members).
・The content of the screening and selection will not be disclosed for any reason.
・The number of applications for the same nickname does not have a direct bearing on the screening and selection processes.
・One ” Excellence Award ” will be selected from among all the entries.
