2023.08.07 Applications for the Commemorative Coin for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (First Issue) Begins August 8!

Today, the Japan Mint announced that the 1,000-yen silver coin will be issued as the first issue of coins commemorating Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as ”the Expo”), and that mail-order sales of products incorporating this commemorative coin will begin at the Japan Mint on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
The design on the obverse (front) features the official logo and a panoramic view of the Expo site to draw attention to and build anticipation for the Expo, and give a wide impression about the Expo to be held.
The commemorative coins will be issued in three installments of about five different coins before the opening of the Expo.
The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition will build nationwide momentum through the issuance of commemorative coins and develop public relations through various opportunities such as events and more.

Determination of winners:
①If the number of applications exceeds the quantity sold, a lottery will be held.
②Winners are limited to one per person and two per address. If you live at the same address but in a different household, please inquire before applying.

Notification of winners:
① Payment instructions, including payment forms issued by the Japan Mint, will be sent out successively from mid-November. Please make payment at a convenience store, post office (Japan Post Bank) (cash transfer fee to be borne by the customer), or bank (bank transfer fee to be borne by the customer) within the payment deadline. If you have ordered from the Japan Mint online store, you can also pay by credit card. The product will be shipped after payment is received.
② If payment is not received and paid within the payment deadline indicated in the notice, your application will be treated as cancelled.
③ Products will be shipped successively from around late November. Please note that even if you apply for, make a deposit for, and pay for other products at the same time, they may be delivered separately.
④ We will not notify the lottery results to those who were not selected.

Notices:
Please make sure to fill in and register the address where you are registered as a resident. Applications with a different address from the registered resident’s address will be invalid in principle. If you live in a place other than your registered address, please contact us before applying. The commemorative coins are issued and sold so that they will be cherished by many citizens for many years to come, and will not be sold to those who are deemed to have applied under a fictitious name or another person’s name, or to those who have applied with the clear intention of reselling the product, such as through internet sales prior to shipment. If necessary, we may ask you to submit a copy of your residence certificate or other documents necessary to confirm your residence before sending you the payment information.

Return Policy:
Upon arrival, please check the contents of the product immediately and store it in a cool and dry place. In the unlikely event that you receive a defective product or a product that is different from what you ordered, please contact the Japan Mint as soon as possible after receiving the product and return it to us (the Japan Mint will bear the shipping costs). Please note that the Mint will not accept returns for reasons attributable to the customer or defects caused by reasons attributable to the customer.
Please note that the color of the holder may change over time, and we will not be able to replace it.

Handling of Personal Information:
Your personal information may be used for administrative work related to the sale of the products you have applied for, as well as for information about Japan Mint products and events, and also for inquiries and surveys. Your personal information will not be used for any other purposes without your consent.
