On September 20, 2023, a safety prayer ceremony was held for Signature Pavilion “Playground of Life Jellyfish Pavilion” (theme: Invigorating Lives), that Thematic Project Producer NAKAJIMA Sachiko is working on for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”), hosted by Daiwa House Group.
In addition to Producer NAKAJIMA, people involved with the pavilion and the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) also attended the safety prayer ceremony held at Osaka Temmangu Shrine, which is associated with academia, in honor of the Jellyfish Pavilion’s theme of play and learning.
At the press conference held after the safety prayer ceremony, Thematic Project Producer NAKAJIMA Sachiko gave an overview of the pavilion’s exhibitions and the theme she is in charge of, “Invigorating Lives”. Then, architect KOBORI Tetsuo, architectural designer of “Playground of Life Jellyfish Pavilion”, took the stage and explained the pavilion’s structure and other details. A promotional video for this pavilion was unveiled to the public for the first time.
Construction of the Signature Pavilion “Playground of Life Jellyfish Pavilion” is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2023.

Comment from Producer NAKAJIMA

The Signature Pavilion “Playground of Life Jellyfish Pavilion,” will engage the senses of children aged 0-120 through participatory, collaborative experiences of play, learning, art, and festivals involving the five senses and physicality. “Jellyfish” symbolizes fluctuating play, which is something that cannot be explained in words, primitiveness, and the creativity of life. We will create the pavilion together with the Daiwa House Group, architect KOBORI Tetsuo and many other inclusive jellyfish friends, and aim for “democratization of creativity.”

Comment from Deputy Secretary General TAKASHINA

Thematic Project Producer NAKAJIMA Sachiko is a producer with particular knowledge in the field of education, with the titles of musician, mathematics researcher, and STEAM educator. We hope that the pavilion will create a place for co-creation where people can experience the joy and pleasure of life and enhance their lives through play, learning, sports and the arts, and we also hope that the pavilion will express an inclusive society.
Producer NAKAJIMA has been active in various areas of Japan since before the opening of the Expo and has been promoting the Expo by involving many people. We hope that today’s presentation will be an opportunity to further accelerate our activities and that they will flourish at the Expo.
