On September 22, 2023, the Japan Gas Association held a ground-breaking ceremony at the planned construction site in Yumeshima where the Pavilion for Private Sectors “Gas Pavilion” will be built for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
Officials of the Japan Gas Association, related parties of construction and operation: Nikken Sekkei Inc., Okumura Corporation, DENTSU Inc., DENTSU LIVE Inc.; as well as the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) attended the ceremony.
The Gas Pavilion is a membrane structure with a large triangular cross-section, designed based on the concept of “Bakero – Shape Our Future!”. Construction for the pavilion is scheduled for November.
The Gas Pavilion features a large triangular cross-section with a maximum height of approximately 18 meters, utilizing mirrored membrane materials. The membrane material is made of SPACECOOL, a radiant-cooling material, which contributes to energy conservation and low carbon emissions by reducing the rise in indoor temperatures and the cooling load of indoor air conditioning.
The concept of the Gas Pavilion, “Bakero – Shape Our Future!” will be expressed through the changes in building expression and the 3Rs : Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
