On November 4, 2023, the ground-breaking ceremony for the Signature Pavilion ”to exist” (theme: Embracing Lives), produced by Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Thematic Project Producer KAWASE Naomi, was held at the planned pavilion site at the Expo site in Yumeshima, Osaka. The ceremony was hosted by the pavilion constructor, Muramoto Corporation.
In addition to Producer KAWASE, SUGIYAMA Ou, Planning and Management Director, SUO Takashi, in charge of the design and architecture of “to exist”, SATOH Tetsuya, Exhibition and Virtual Contents Planner, SAITO Taichi, in charge of Planting and Environmental Design, people involved with the pavilion construction, and the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition also attended the ceremony.
At Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, the two closed buildings of Oritachi Junior High School, Totsukawa Village, Nara Prefecture, and the Nakade Branch of Hosomi Elementary School, Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture, will be used for the Signature Pavilion “to exist” (theme: Embracing Lives).
The concept of the pavilion is “A dialogue for the first time in human history is born every day”. The Signature Pavilion “to exist” is a pavilion that aims to understand and overcome mutual differences in race, religion, culture, etc. through dialogue conducted by people of different nationalities, races, and cultures who are completely unknown to each other.
