The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) is pleased to announce that Hello Kitty of Sanrio Company, Ltd. (Tokyo, President and Chief Executive Officer: TSUJI Tomokuni) has been appointed as a Special Supporter, thus becoming part of a group of supporters for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”). Hello Kitty is an iconic Japanese character adored around the world. She served as a Special Envoy (Mascot Character) for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan during the bid to host the Expo. As a Special Supporter, Hello Kitty will cooperate in various promotional activities for the Expo, both domestically and internationally.
Hello Kitty is a popular character of Sanrio Company, Ltd. and will celebrate her 50th anniversary in 2024. The period from November this year to December 31, 2024 is her “50th anniversary year”, and initiatives will be rolled out based on the theme “Friend the Future: Be Friends with the Future.”
