2023.12.05 Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, “Forest of Tranquility” Planting Work Started

The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) began planting work on December 5, 2023 for the “Forest of Tranquility” to be developed at the site of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo.”)
The “Forest of Tranquility” will be located on Yumeshima, the site of the Expo, and will be a remarkably quiet and relaxing place amidst the hustle and bustle of the Expo site. The forest will be composed of transplanted trees from the Expo 70’ Commemorative Park and other parks in Osaka Prefecture that are scheduled to be thinned in the future.

Area: About 2.3 ha
Number of trees: About 1,500
Waterscape facilities: 1 pond, 3 water basins
Species of trees: Japanese blue oak, Japanese maple, and Japanese snowbell, sawtooth oak, jolcham oak, camellia and others
Parks the replanted trees came from: Expo 70’ Commemorative Park, Hattori Ryokuchi
Park, Kyuhoji Ryokuchi Park, Oizumi Ryokuchi Park, Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park, Osaka Castle Park and others
