▽Expo Classroom
An “Expo” is an event that brings together many people and things from all over the world. It is a place where people gather wisdom from all corners of the globe to tackle various global issues. The Expo Classroom is an initiative to share the wisdom of diverse participants who gather for the Expo with many people in the form of seminars, and to learn and think together about a future society for our lives. By learning about new initiatives, technologies, services, and systems that will take root in the future society, which can only be experienced at the Expo, we will convey a common understanding of the appeal of the Expo and create opportunities for the next generation of talented leaders of the future society to achieve great things.

▽Dialogue Series: Expo 2025
Expo 2025 aims to contribute to achieving the goals of the SDGs under the theme of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”. “Dialogue Series: Expo 2025” launched in April 2024, one year before the opening of the Expo, and brings together Official Participants and students from more than 160 countries, regions, and international organisations that have announced their participation in Expo 2025 to find resolutions to global issues.

▽Multilingual Simultaneous Interpretation Streaming System
This system is one of the systems provided by the sponsor TOPPAN HOLDING INC, (Head Office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director President & CEO: MARO Hideharu) as an automatic translation system for the Future Society Showcase Project Exhibition in Expo 2025(*1). The system uses AI technology to automatically and simultaneously interpret the speech of a speaker at lectures, symposia, and other occasions, and displays the results as subtitles on a large screen at the venue or on participants’ smartphones.

We are currently developing and verifying the system for use at the Expo. At “Expo Classroom in Kindai University”, we will conduct a demonstration experiment to verify the appropriate display of text size and display speed tailored to the environment of the venue and to verify the operational optimisation of the system. This demonstration experiment will utilise the simultaneous interpretation technology currently under research and development in the “Research and Development of Advanced Multilingual Translation Technology” (*2) research project commissioned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. The experiment will be conducted in collaboration with Yamaha Corporation (headquartered in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture; President and Representative Executive Officer: YAMAURA Atsushi), a member of the same research and development project.
