The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) is pleased to announce that Kumamon, the mascot of Kumamoto Prefecture, has been appointed as a special supporter of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”). He will lend his support in promotional activities for the Expo. (Appointed on 17 June, 2024)
Kumamon is a Sales Manager and Happiness Manager for Kumamoto Prefecture and travels not only in Japan but also overseas to promote the attractions of his hometown Kumamoto. As a special supporter, Kumamon will cooperate in various promotional activities for the Expo.
The appointment of Kumamon as a special supporter has also led to a range of MYAKU-MYAKU and Kumamon collaboration products to be launched in autumn 2024. Many exciting products with various designs will be developed.

About Kumamon
Kumamon is the mascot character of Kumamoto Prefecture. He made his debut on 12 March 2010 to promote the completion of the Kyushu Shinkansen line. He promotes the attractions of Kumamoto Prefecture not only within Kumamoto Prefecture but also around Japan and the world.

■ What is a “Special Supporter”?
Special Supporters is a group of supporters for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan made up of people, groups, characters, etc. with many fans that can use their influence to convey the appeal and philosophy of the Expo.
The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition will continue to increase the number of people interested in the Expo by having various people join as Special Supporters.
