2024.06.24 Safety Measures for Methane Gas, etc. During the Expo

In light of the fire incident that occurred in a toilet in the Green World (GW) construction zone on 28 March 2024, and data showing the detection of low concentrations of methane gas at the Pavilion World (PW) construction zone, the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) has investigated the concentration, detection locations, and origins of methane gas, etc.
Based on the results of these investigations and consultations with experts, the Association has now compiled a set of safety measures for methane gas, etc. during the Expo. The Association will continue to monitor methane gas, etc. and review the safety measures as necessary, based on the ongoing surveys of methane gas, etc., and opinions from experts.
