The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) is pleased to announce the sponsors of the “Foresting Architecture”, part of the Future Society Showcase Project “Green Expo” at Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”).
Discussions are still ongoing with a number of companies and organisations for each of the Future Society Showcase Project Exhibits. New sponsors and organisations will be announced in due course.

■ Project Name:
Foresting Architecture [Green Expo]

■ Sponsor:
Takenaka Corporation ( President: SASAKI Masato, Osaka City)

■ Overview of Project:
The “Foresting Architecture” is a proposal for the architecture of the future in which the buildings we create together are seeds that will become forests when they are finished being used instead of going to waste. This form of architecture combines state-of-the-art 3D printing technology with handcrafting. Takenaka Corporation will construct and sponsor two buildings with a diameter of 4.65 m and a height of 2.95 m at the Ground Plaza located in the north-west of the Grand Ring, which visitors can use for rest and other purposes. The structure is made from 3D printed biodegradable, light-transmitting cellulose acetate, and the exterior will be made from handmade Japanese paper and plants created at various events.
