The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) is pleased to announce the following new information about “One World, One Planet.”, one of the events organised by the Association at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”).
“One World, One Planet.” is a spectacular show that weaves together light, sound, and technology, in a “global synaesthesia ceremony” that connects the Expo site with the rest of the world through real and virtual means with the theme of “Wishes”. It is the first time in the history of World Expo that a series of events combining the real and virtual will be held for 184 consecutive days during the Expo.
Time and Date: After sunset, Sunday, 13 April to Monday, 13 October 2025
Venue: All areas of the Expo site (sky above the Sea of Connections, Grand Ring, exterior walls of
EXPO Hall “Shining Hat”, rest place (Cube Monument), digital signage at the venue, Virtual Expo venue)

At twilight every day during the Expo, a spectacular show combining light, sound, and technology will be held at the Yumeshima site. It will include a drone show, a light-up of the Grand Ring, and projection mapping on EXPO Hall “Shining Hat” while music is played throughout the site.
The ceremony can also be enjoyed at the Virtual Expo site in sync with the production at the real site.
[Drone Show] Location: Sky above the Sea of Connections
A drone show using 1,000 drones will be held every day. The evening sky above Yumeshima Island will be adorned with motifs of wishes.
[Grand Ring Light-up]
The Grand Ring will be lit up with purple light, a mixture of red and blue symbolising twilight, creating an experience of being enveloped in light.
[Projection Mapping] Location: Exterior wall of EXPO Hall “Shining Hat”
A fantastical world will be projected onto the exterior wall of EXPO Hall “Shining Hat”. Visitors can enjoy the immersive experience of the spectacular projection mapping and world view.

Four 3m x 3m LED screens will show fantastic images accompanying the ceremony.
[One World Tree (Wish posting)] Location: Virtual Expo site
There will also be a participatory event in which people, both inside and outside the Expo site, can post their wishes from their smartphones and other devices. By collecting altruistic wishes for the happiness and health of others and for the future of the planet, visitors can enjoy the growth of the One World Tree, an AR representation of a wish tree.
