2025.03.26 Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan “Future Society Showcase Project” “Smart Mobility Expo: On-Site Personal Mobility for Visitors” Sponsor Decided

The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) is pleased to announce the outline of sponsorship of the “Smart Mobility Expo: On-Site Personal Mobility for Visitors” part of the Future Society Showcase Project at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”), as well as the services that will be available to visitors.

■ Project Overview
 On-Site Personal Mobility for Visitors

This project has two objectives. The first is to implement personal mobility, which is already being used in society, as a service for visitors. The second is to demonstrate a mixed transport system in which pedestrians and personal mobility vehicles exist simultaneously, which is expected to arrive in the near future.

● Vehicles:150 electric carts sponsored by DAIHATSU MOTOR CO., LTD.
● Operating area: general visitor area (excluding some areas such as the Forest of Tranquillity).
● Target group: Elderly and others who have difficulty walking (from the time of rental until 21:00).
  General visitors (for up to 4 hours)
  * Personal mobility devices can be rented out until 20:00 and can be returned at any time.
● Fee: Free of charge.
● Reservation system: No reservations needed. Same-day rental.
● Rental stations (red), parking (blue), robot & mobility station exhibit (green).

About the Future Society Showcase Project
The Future Society Showcase Project is a general term referring to a group of projects that provide experiences to a wide range of participants and visitors from Japan and abroad by utilising technologies and services that support the theme of the Expo, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” for the development, operation, exhibition, and events of the Expo site, in the form of “demonstrations” that give a sense of the future beyond 2025, and “implementation” that is suitable for the Expo.
