The land of peaceful coexistence
Algeria is the largest country in Africa, the Arab world, and the Mediterranean basin. Roughly 80% of Algeria is covered by the Sahara Desert. The pavilion begins with an impressive exhibit on stone implements dating back 2.4 million years. Inside is a movie on Algeria’s sustainable development strategy, as well as exhibits highlighting the country’s incredible heritage sites and sightseeing spots, including seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Casbah, Tipasa, Timgad, M’zab Valley and Tassili n’Ajjer. Visitors can deepen their understanding of Algeria’s initiatives tackling global problems such as sustainability, food, water, energy, and eliminating poverty.
