Cool Highlands Echoing with Drums and Everyday Beauty
Located near the very centre of the African continent, Burundi is bordered by Rwanda to the north, Tanzania to the east, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west.
On its southwest border is Lake Tanganyika, which is known as the longest lake in the world at 637 km.
Despite being located just below the equator, Burundi has a cool climate due to it being a country of high lands with an average altitude of 1,700 metres, and as such it is known as the ‘Switzerland of Africa’.
The pavilion is separated into four quadrants that showcase various handicrafts and products: ‘Expressive Performances: Culture of Drums’, ‘Wonderful Climate and Abundant Nature’, ‘Coffee and Delicious Foods’, and ‘Handicraft’s.
