The Pulse of Progress in a Land of Extremes

Djibouti is located in northeast Africa where the Red Sea meets the Gulf of Aden, on the northwest edge of
the Indian Ocean.
Due to its location, Djibouti is famous as a marine transportation hub.
As one would expect from an arid location described as ‘one of the hottest countries on Earth’, Djibouti
prospered as a port city instead of seeing agricultural development, and transit trade sustains the
country’s economy.
Moreover, Djibouti has pointed to energy, tourism, culture, digital development and innovation, and
investment opportunities as key parts of its national vision for the future.
The pavilion covers the history of Djibouti’s development and features handicraft exhibits as well.
