Guinea: Pioneer of Independence, Rich in Resources and Culture
Located in western Africa, Guinea achieved independence through a referendum in 1958 before other
countries pursued similar paths.
The majority of the population works in agriculture, but it also has rich stores of underground mineral
resources including bauxite, of which it is said to have the largest reserves in the world, as well as gold
and diamonds.
Guinea is also an important trade partner of Japan.
At the venue, a large tree in front of the pavilion will serve as a landmark.
Inside the pavilion, visitors can learn about Guinea culture through exhibits and videos on leading Guinea
food products and handicrafts.
