Republic of Liberia

Africa’s First Republic Alive with Culture and Nature

Located on the west coast of Africa, Liberia is the first independent republic on the continent, and the first
African nation that democratically elected a female president.
The Liberia Pavilion showcases videos and photographs featuring interviews with Liberian women who
have played key roles in advancing the country’s development and democracy.
The pavilion also features a forest-inspired exhibit filled with wooden animals, tribal masks representing
the 16 ethnic groups and their identities, traditional sangba drums, and displays of the nation’s abundant
natural resources.
Visitors can explore the richness of tropical rainforests, cultural heritage, and extensive investment and
business opportunities.
