With a unique ecosystem described as an ecological jewel, the baobab tree is a national symbol as
Madagascar is home to six of the world’s eight baobab tree species.
The pavilion covers national initiatives, handicrafts, and sightseeing spots focused especially on this
sacred tree, called ‘reniala’ in the local language, meaning ‘mother of the forest’.
