Somalia’s Vast Coastline and Nomadic Traditions

Somalia is located in the Horn of Africa in eastern Africa along the Gulf of Aden, the Red Sea, and the
Indian Ocean.
For this reason, it has the longest coastline in Africa at roughly 3,000 km.
The Somali people account for roughly 85% of Somalia’s population, and two-thirds of them are nomadic
people who live a traditional lifestyle in which they travel on camels.
Under a ceiling decorated like the night sky, the pavilion showcases the country’s beauty, including
antiques, maritime heritage, handicrafts, oil paintings, and traditional musical instruments.
There are also videos about the country on display to be viewed in the relaxed setting of the pavilion.
