Sharing and conveying Türkiye’s profound historical experience, acquired from Anatolian civilizations over the centuries, to all of humanity by transforming it into a vision for the future.
Türkiye’s main theme, “Designing the Future Society for Our Lives,” reflects a forward-looking vision that shares Türkiye’s deep-rooted Anatolian heritage with humanity. As a historic crossroads of civilizations, Türkiye plays a unique role in world history by connecting lives through cultural contributions. The Türkiye Pavilion’s motto, “Heyday of Civilizations,” embodies the concept of day and night, symbolized by the sun and moon on the Turkish and Japanese flags. This theme unites past civilizations, from Göbeklitepe to the Ottomans, under a shared cultural heritage. The pavilion’s architecture, blending content with design, features wave-patterned vertical profiles that symbolize Türkiye’s Mediterranean and Black Sea coasts. An illuminated “Crescent and Star” above the entrance highlights national pride, while the “Kün-Ay” symbol, representing the moon and sun, decorates the entrance and interior. A unique boron-covered tree installation, symbolizing Türkiye’s rich boron reserves, is adorned with flags of participating countries and illuminated, creating a striking feature both day and night.
