Assistance dogs, hearing dogs, and guide dogs for the blind, as defined in the Assistance Dogs for the Physically Disabled Act, are allowed to enter. For the comfort of visitors, assistance dogs coming to Japan from overseas that are recognized as meeting Japanese standards through training by an authorized training provider overseas will be issued a “Limited Time Certificate” by a Japanese accreditation organization.
Assistance dogs with a “Limited Time Certificate” will be treated as the same as Japanese assistance dogs. For details, please refer to the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare website.
Please be sure to wear the markings required by Japanese law and bring your certification (certificate of use)
There are no special toilet facilities for assistance dogs. Assistance dogs authorised by a designated organisation under the Assistance Dogs for Persons with Disabilities Act can use the same toilet stalls as visitors. Please prepare puppy pads or a toileting harness etc. for your dog to use and ensure they are trained to use it.
