These guidelines provide information needed for designing Type A (self-built) pavilions constructed by Official Participants (participating countries), as well as relevant rules concerning consideration for the environment, required procedures and etc.

BIM Requirements for Type A (Self-Built) Pavilions

Aiming to ensure that the standard of BIM data used across the site is consistent, these requirements provide an overview of BIM application, as well as information on the BIM promotion structure, the software to be used, data submission method, and etc.

Universal Design Guidelines for Facility Implementation

Aiming to provide a comfortable environment for users by achieving universal design that improves user-friendliness for people from all over the world visiting the Expo regardless of nationality, culture, race, gender, age, and disability, these guidelines present the standards regarding pathways within the grounds as well as corridors, stairways, toilets, guidance facilities, and other facilities within buildings, the standards serving as a common guideline for venue facility implementation.

※In order to make the Expo venue user-friendly to all visitors, these guidelines have been revised on the basis of opinions gathered from people with disabilities and others, the legacy of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics, including the Tokyo 2020 Accessibility Guidelines, and the content of the Building Design Standards with Consideration for the Smooth Transportation, etc. of Elderly Persons, Disabled Persons, etc. that was revised in March 2021.

Construction and Demolition Work Guidelines for Self-Built Pavilions (Type A)

These guidelines describe the requirements to be fulfilled when carrying out the construction and demolition/removal work of Type A (self-built) pavilions constructed by participants as well as issues relating to the management of such work by the organiser.
