Programme details
Across the globe, esports is recognized as one of the most
prominent competitive sport. The same is true for Japan, where
many tournaments are being hosted, and new top-tier athletes
are being born.
Meanwhile, esports is also attracting attention as a new
method for solving issues in modern society. With
characteristics such as “age-less,” “gender-less,” and
“physical-handicap-less,” it has the potential to be a
universal sport that everyone can enjoy together. Whether it
be welfare for the elderly and people with disabilities, or
for regional revitalization, esports is open for everyone.
Under the theme of "Connecting the World through the
Power of Esports,” we will create a space where visitors from
all over the world can reflect on the future of living with
esports.

Reports
【Reflection】
Esports, which are rapidly gaining popularity as a competitive
sport worldwide, have also been flourishing in Japan, where
numerous tournaments and events are being held, and athletes
competing on the global stage are emerging. At the same time,
thanks to characteristics such as being “age-less” (not
limited by age), “gender-less” (not limited by gender), and
“handicap-less” (not limited by disability), esports are
increasingly being utilized as a new tool to address social
issues. They are applied in areas such as regional
revitalization, elderly welfare, and support for persons with
disabilities, holding great potential as a universal sport
that everyone can enjoy.
Through this Expo, we aimed to contribute to the creation of a
richer and more vibrant society by introducing esports and its
possibilities to the many visitors from both Japan and
abroad.
During the event, we welcomed a much larger and more diverse
audience than expected, spanning all ages, genders, and
nationalities.
In the exhibition area, which primarily introduced esports in
Japan, many visitors stopped to view the displays with great
interest. Particularly popular were the video highlights
showcasing the achievements of Japan’s national team athletes,
as well as the exhibits and hands-on experiences with
accessibility controllers designed for people with
disabilities to participate in esports. These attractions
allowed visitors to experience a different dimension of
esports.
The stage area, featuring domestic athletes and well-known
streamers, drew large crowds from the morning, with long lines
forming before opening and standing-room-only audiences
throughout the day. The program went beyond being a simple
gaming event: it conveyed the excitement of watching esports
as a spectator, showcased the skill and toughness of athletes,
and provided entertainment unique to live events, offering
even those unfamiliar with esports a new appreciation of its
appeal.
In the hands-on experience area, visitors who usually do not
play esports had the chance to try out esports titles and
streaming equipment, allowing them to experience firsthand the
charm of esports.
Over the two days, approximately 20,000 people attended the
program. Through this initiative, visitors who were already
familiar with esports were able to gain a deeper understanding
of its depth, while newcomers discovered its appeal for the
first time. Overall, we successfully presented Japanese
esports to the world and to the future.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
Through the implementation of this program, many people of all
ages and from both Japan and abroad were able to experience
the appeal and potential of esports. In order to ensure that
they continue to engage with esports in the future, we will
maintain our efforts by organizing grassroots tournaments and
dispatching athletes to international competitions, thereby
continuously providing opportunities for the public to take an
interest in esports.
