【Reflection】
At Expo 2025’s Theme Week Studio, the session titled
“Human-centric AI for a True AI Companion: Overcoming Barriers
and What’s Next” explored how artificial intelligence can
become a trusted, practical part of daily life. Co-hosted by
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and the Republic of Korea, and
featuring speakers from Samsung and Qualcomm, the dialogue
highlighted the importance of delivering AI experiences that
feel intuitive, helpful, secured and seamlessly integrated
into daily life and showcased how Samsung and Qualcomm have
committed to providing users with human-centric AI.
Ken (Inkang) Song of Samsung emphasized that AI should blend
seamlessly into daily life, meaning truly useful AI should be
easier and more intuitive for users. Samsung envisions that
mobile AI will evolve to be ambient AI that is so seamlessly
integrated into daily life it becomes second nature. Samsung
is building a future where devices don’t just respond, they
become smarter to anticipate, see and work quietly in the
background to make life feel a little more effortless. In
order to this, Samsung is expanding the AI experience, which
began with smartphones, across the entire Galaxy ecosystem.
Spencer (Sang-Pyo) Kim of Qualcomm provided the technological
perspective, explaining how on-device AI enables faster, more
secure, and context-aware AI experience. On-device AI keeps
data within device itself, offering both robust privacy and
faster responsiveness. This architecture is crucial for
ensuring a safe and trustworthy AI experience. In addition,
Qualcomm defines AI as a new user interface (UI), and has been
designing its technology to provide intuitive, use-centered AI
experience.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
Samsung envisions that mobile AI will evolve to become more
intuitive and natural and has set this direction as next AI
vision. This evoulution leads to what Samsung calls Ambient
AI, and AI that operates proactively to assist the user
without requiring conscious commands. For this, Samsung is
expanding the AI experience, which began with smartphones,
across the entire Galaxy ecosystem, leveraging multimodal
capabilities and on-device AI.
Qualcomm's vision is 'Intelligent Computing
Everywhere'. Qualcomm is expanding its product portfolio
to accelerate the adoption of on-device AI across all IT
platforms - not only mobile, but also laptops, extended
reality (XR), IoT, and automotive.
