Reports
【Reflection】
This programme featured a discussion on the theme of “Peace
and Human Rights”, with director Naomi Kawase and guest Tomoko
Nakajima sharing perspectives from their respective roles as
filmmaker and actor.
Towards the end of the programme, a live demonstration of the
dialogue conducted within the signature pavilion, ‘Dialogue
Theater - sign of life -’, was performed using that day’s
theme. The pavilion’s stated aim is to resolve ‘division’
through ‘dialogue’. Through the two speakers’ discussion and
the ‘dialogue’ itself, we believe attendees were afforded an
opportunity to deepen their understanding further.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
This talk session showed that peace isn't just a social
thing, but something that's built by how people feel and
think. By talking about how different cultures, values,
personalities, and character traits can lead to different ways
of thinking, people got to learn new stuff and see things in a
new light.
After the EXPO, I hope that through talks like this, people
from different cultures and with different values can keep
working to understand each other and help break down social
divisions and prejudice.
