The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition will hold “1000 Days To Go!” as an event of 1000 days to go before the opening, in both Tokyo and Osaka on July 18, 2022 (the event in Tokyo will be live streamed.)
At the event, the best nickname of the official character selected from the 33,197 entries submitted will be announced, ” Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Design Special Lighting” will be projected in Tokyo Skytree ® and “Countdown Declaration of 1000 Days To Go before Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan” will be also conducted at the Universal Studios Japan. Various programs will be held in Tokyo and Osaka to commemorate 1000 days to go before the opening of the Expo.
In addition, a special page on the Association’s official website that summarizes the schedule of various events, activities, and participating programs has been set up in the occasion of 1000 days to go before the opening. The Association would like to invite a variety of people to “Join” (participate in) the Expo, enliven 1000 days to go before the opening in each region in Japan and foster the momentum for the Expo.

The design of the official character of the Expo was decided on March 22 this year, and the public proposals for the official character nickname of the Expo were received from April 26 to May 16. The best work selected from 33,197 entries submitted will be announced as a nickname of the official character.

Laser mapping on Tokyo Skytree® and special lighting that resembles the image color of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan will be projected.
