2022.07.26 Expo Site Operation Participation of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (2nd round) and Recruitment of Proposals for the “Co-Design Challenge” Program Started

The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition is pleased to announce that it is soliciting proposals for the Expo Site Operation Participation (2nd round) and the “Co-Design Challenge” program, which will be newly implemented as a special program for management participation.
In order to make Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan more attractive and create a venue where all visitors can stay comfortably, the Association is seeking proposals for management participation for the second time. It is seeking proposals of goods and services necessary for the operation of the Expo which will provided by sponsorship.
The “Co-Design Challenge” program is a new co-creation project based on the concept of designing a future Japanese lifestyle (community) in the wake of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan,” and will be implemented as a special program for Expo Site Operation Participation. Under the supervision of the “Expo Outcome Design Committee,” established by the Association, which examines the future society that should be implemented at the Expo from the design perspective, the Association will recruit companies and/ or organizations that will be proactively involved in the Expo, lead discussions, and promote the development and co-creation of goods and services for the concepts that are considered necessary for society during and after the Expo.
The specific content of sponsorship for management participation and sponsorship for the “Co-Design Challenge” program will be decided after communications between the Association and the companies and/ or organizations that have applied for the proposal.

Tuesday, July 26, 2022: Announcement of application guidelines and start of acceptance of sponsorship proposals
Friday, September 9, 2022: Deadline for accepting questions
Friday, September 16, 2022: Deadline for submission of sponsorship proposal
After the end of September 2022: Individual hearings on the sponsorship proposal to be conducted
After November 2022 (planned): Notification of sponsorship acceptance examination results, conclusion of sponsorship contract, announcement of sponsor name (sequentially)

・ Proposal conditions for the “Co-Design Challenge” program

  1. A product or service must be newly “developed” from now on
  2. It is desirable for multiple companies and/ or organizations to work together on the development.
    (Applications from multiple companies and/ or organizations are desirable. Registration to the “TEAM EXPO 2025” program is required.)
  3. A Designer or a creator must participate in the program.
  4. SMEs must be included as applicants.

*”Small and medium-sized enterprises” is defined by the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Basic Act.
