The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) will hold the “Presentations by Junior High School Students” at the 4th Kansai SDGs YOUth Meeting 2022 on Saturday, 25 February 2023 as an opportunity for children to present what they have learnt through the Junior Expo Educational Programme.
This programme was launched in October 2020 with the aim of encouraging children, who will be the leaders of the future, to participate in events related to Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”)in the run up to the Expo. Students learn about the SDGs, and come up with ideas on the theme of the Expo, “Designing  Future Society for Our Lives,” and develop an interest in visiting the Expo in 2025.
In the 2022 academic year the programme is open to elementary schools and junior high schools throughout Japan. At this presentation, participating junior high schools are invited to submit their ideas for summarising what they have learnt through the programme. Three ideas will be selected to be presented by the junior high school students, who will then receive comments from the judges.
