2024.04.11 Applications for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Commemorative Coin (second issue) Open On 12 April!

The Japan Mint announced that a 1,000yen silver coin will be issued as the second issue of coins to commemorate the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”). Pre-order sales of products incorporating this commemorative coin will start on Friday 12 April 2024.
The design on the front face features MYAKU-MYAKU, the official character of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, together with hearts, and sprouting leaves to symbolise “life,” one of the themes of the Expo.
The commemorative coins are to be issued in three instalments and in about five different types before the opening of the Expo. The Association will also promote the issue of the commemorative coins at events and on various other occasions in order to build nationwide momentum for the Expo.

Only one application per person can be made via the Japan Mint Online Shop.
Determination of winnersi) If the number of applications exceeds the quantity sold, a lottery will be held.
(ii) Winning is limited to one per person and two per address. If you are from a different household at the same address, please contact us before applying.
Communication to winners(1) Payment instructions, including payment forms issued by the Japan Mint, will be sent out from around mid-July. Please pay at a convenience store, post office (Japan Post Bank) (cash transfer fee to be borne by the customer), or bank (bank transfer fee to be borne by the customer) before the payment deadline. If you have applied via the Mint Online Shop, you can also pay by credit card. The product will only be shipped after payment has been received.
(2) If you do not pay within the payment deadline indicated in the notice, your order will be treated as cancelled.
(3) Products will be dispatched in order from late July. Please note that even if you apply and pay for other products at the same time, they may be delivered separately.
(4) Those who do not win will not be contacted.
NotesPlease make sure to fill in and register the address where you are registered as a resident. Applications with an address different from the resident registration will, in principle, be invalid. If you live outside your registered place of residence, please contact us before applying. Commemorative coins are issued and sold so that they can be cherished by many citizens for many years and will not be sold to those who are deemed to have applied under a fictitious name or another person’s name, or to those who have applied with the clear intention of reselling the product, such as through internet sales prior to dispatch. If necessary, we may ask you to submit a copy of your certificate of residence or other documents necessary to confirm your residence before sending you the information on payment.
Return policyPlease check the contents of the product as soon as possible after arrival and store it in a cool and dry place. In the unlikely event that you receive a defective product or a product that is different from what you ordered, please contact the Japan Mint as soon as possible after receiving the product and return it to the Japan Mint (the Japan Mint will bear the shipping costs). Please note that the Japan Mint will not accept returns for reasons attributable to the customer or defects caused by reasons attributable to the customer.
Please note that the colour of the case may change over time and cannot be replaced.
Handling of personal dataYour personal data may be used for administrative work related to the sale of the products you have applied for, as well as for informing you about Japan Mint products and events, and for enquiries and questionnaires. It will not be used for any other purpose without the customer’s consent.
