2024.09.10 New information centre for the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan   opens in ITOCHU SDGs STUDIO (Gaienmae, Tokyo)

The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association) and the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Master License Office (hereinafter referred to as the “2025MLO”) are pleased to announce that the “Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Concept Store – Gaienmae Store for Our Lives Series” in ITOCHU SDGs Studio (2-3-1 Itochu, Kita-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo) will be open from Wednesday, 25 September 2024, 200 days before the opening of the Expo, to Friday, 31 January 2025.
“Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Concept Store – Gaienmae Store for Our Lives Series” features not only the basic information on pavilions and admission tickets, but also an introduction space where visitors can enjoy and feel the attractions of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”) from multiple perspectives, and a sales space for officially licensed “for Our Lives series” products, which give form to the thoughts of creators who resonate with the Expo’s theme, ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives’.
On 25 September, the opening day, MYAKU-MYAKU, the official character of the Expo, will appear at the store to welcome visitors. (Three appearances are planned at 11:00, 13:00 and 17:00 *Times are subject to change).
In the future, the store will serve as a base for disseminating information on the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan in the Tokyo metropolitan area, conveying the attractions of the Expo to the many people who visit the store.

Business hours: 11:00 – 18:00
Closed: Mondays (*If Monday is a public holiday, the store will be closed on the next working day).
Total floor area: 119 m2

(1) Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Introduction Space (planned)
Large-scale maps of the Expo site and information on the pavilions will be on permanent display. The space is designed to allow visitors to get a feel for the content and attractions of the Expo. Limited-time special exhibitions and events will also be held.

(2) Sales space for officially licenced “for Our Lives series” products
The sales space has a stately feel, using fixtures made from scrap wood from the “Grand Ring”.
The officially licensed ‘for Our Lives series’ products made from recycled materials and designed with consideration for global environmental issues in mind will be sold as part of the product line-up. In addition, the exhibition also provides visitors with an opportunity to learn about the thoughts of the makers and the background of the manufacturing process.

■ Outline of ITOCHU SDGs STUDIO

ITOCHU SDGs Studio is a cultural platform that links ‘people, commerce and the Earth’ by creating a place for information transmission and experience that captures the SDGs from various angles and is operated by ITOCHU. It includes exhibition content, KIDS PARK, and the Child’s Perspective Café.

● The SDGs are being communicated in the ‘J-WAVE SELECTION ITOCHU DEAR LIFE, DEAR FUTURE’ programme sponsored by ITOCHU. (Programme navigator: SHELLY).
● The studio is provided free of charge to organisations involved in SDG-related activities to use as an exhibition space and filming space for social media, etc.
