2024.09.11 Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan MYAKU-MYAKU to Visit China, Indonesia and South Korea for the First Time!

              ―Global Promotion in the Run-up to the Opening of the Expo―

The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereafter referred to as “the Association”) will promote Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”) at China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo (Guangdong, China, 13 September -15 September 2024), 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (Beijing, China, 12 September-16 September 2024),  JAK-Japan Matsuri 2024 (Jakarta, Indonesia, 14 September-15 September 2024), Korea-Japan Festival 2024 (22 September 2024).

A PR booth will be set up to promote the attractions of the Expo and the official character MYAKU-MYAKU will appear at the venue for a meet-and-greet with visitors. In addition, we will conduct a campaign in which those who take photos and post them to social media will be given commemorative Expo items. This will be MYAKU-MYAKU’s first visits to China, Indonesia and South Korea. With less than 220 days to go before the opening of the Expo, MYAKU-MYAKU will be actively promoting the attractions of the Expo overseas to build momentum.

1. China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo *Local time
China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo is the largest international travel fair in Guangdong province, organised by the Guangdong Provincial Tourism Development and Security Center under the umbrella of the Culture and Tourism Agency of Guangdong Province.

2. 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS)
CIFTIS is a one of the three biggest exhibitions in China. It is an all-inclusive international exhibition and trade platform dedicated to trade in services.

3. JAK-Japan Matsuri 2024
JAK-Japan Matsuri (JJM) was first held in 2009 as a public-private partnership to deepen mutual understanding through exchange between the people of Japan and Indonesia. Since then, it has been held annually in Jakarta as an event to foster friendship and amity between the two countries.

4. Korea-Japan Festival 2024
Since its launch to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and Korea (“Japan-Korea Friendship Year 2005”), the Korea-Japan Festival has grown into one of the largest private exchange events between the two countries. This year will mark its 20th anniversary. There will be live performances by both Japanese and Korean artists on the stage located in the centre of the hall, a corner for experiencing Japanese and Korean culture, sales of local products from various regions in Japan and Korea, and a space for enjoying street food from both countries. Last year, the event attracted a total of 70,000 visitors over the two-day period, making it a place that conveys the charms of both Japan and Korea to the general public.
