2024.11.15 Data of Accidents and Occupational Injuries During Expo Site Construction Work

The following table provides information on the number of accidents and occupational injuries*1 sustained during venue construction work that resulted in four or more days off from work, reported to the Association in October 2024.

Accidents resulting in 4 or more days off from workCut / ScrapeWhile drilling with a hole saw, the worker held the object being drilled in their hand without securing it to the workbench, resulting in injury to their index finger.
Cut / ScrapeWhen  attempting to move from the scaffold to the side of the building, the worker’s right foot caught on a horizontal scaffold support, lost balance and made contact with the column leg hardware, resulting in a laceration to the inside left thigh.
FallThe worker was riding an aerial work platform which was backing-up a ramp when the wheel fell off causing the worker to fall and strike their right elbow and right leg.
