Animation staring, the official character of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) is pleased to announce that a short animation featuring MYAKU-MYAKU, the official character of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”), produced by the Association and the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Master Licensing Office (hereinafter referred to as “2025MLO”), will be broadcast on NHK General TV for four consecutive nights, two episodes a day, from Monday, 3 March 2025.
This show is a short animation inspired by modern four-frame comics. It promotes the significance of holding Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan and the theme of the Expo, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”. We hope that viewers of the animation will be inspired to have new encounters and experiences at the Expo through the characters that appear in the programme.
Taking advantage of the appeal of Japanese animation, which is highly popular overseas, we hope to encourage a wide become familiar with the Expo. We hope that this broadcast will increase awareness of and affection for the official character MYAKU-MYAKU and help build further momentum for the opening of the Expo.

Date and Time: Two episodes a day on four consecutive nights starting from 3 March 2025 (planned) on NHK General TV.

What is does MYAKU-MYAKU tell us about the future society for our lives? MYAKU-MYAKU, a mysterious creature born 3.5 billion years ago, wants to talk to someone about life and the future, so it comes to the town where Occhan lives. Through its six eyes that can see the past and future, Occhan, Naoya, and MYAKU-MYAKU discuss various topics about the “Future Society for our Lives”.
