2025.03.07 MYAKU-MYAKU to Feature in Fortnite as a Virtual Expansion of the Signature Pavilion “Future of Life”!‐MYAKU-MYAKU themed parkour map available for a limited time-Release Period: 18:00, Friday 7 March to 18:00, Friday 14 March

　The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) and Producer ISHIGURO Hiroshi (Professor at Osaka University and Visiting Director of ATR Hiroshi Ishiguro Laboratories), who is in charge of the Thematic Project “Amplification of Lives” at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”), will release an original world, “MYAKU-MYAKU Runner in Future of Life” in the game Fortnite for a limited time as a virtual expansion of the Signature Pavilion “Future of Life” from 18:00 on Friday, 7 March to 18:00 on Friday, 14 March 14, 2025.

　The “Future of Life” virtual pavilion is based on the idea that we can choose and create the future. It provides a virtual space that gives users the feeling that “this is how we will make it!” rather than “this is how it will probably be.”
With the goal of attracting many visitors, we have developed a game on Fortnite, one of the world’s largest platforms, centred on “city-building” 50 years in the future. The game will feature “future products” that have been born from the “Future of Life Co-Creation Project”. Each player will experience a new world that they create themselves and that connect to the world 1000 years in the future.
This parkour map will be available for a limited time and is themed around MYAKU-MYAKU, the official character of the Expo.
The world consists of four landscapes: “Inochi”, “Umi”, “Noyama”, and “Hikari”. The various stages symbolize future landscapes and ecosystems, providing players with a dynamic parkour experience.

About the Campaign

　A “time attack” campaign will be held during the release period. Players who place first to third in the time attack ranking will receive a pair of tickets for an exclusive tour of the pavilion with Producer ISHIGURO. Those who place fourth to tenth will receive a ticket to experience the pavilion. Please refer to the pavilion’s official social media for details on how to apply.

Creative Director of the World

Signature Pavilion “Future of Life”
“Virtual Space” Creative Director: SEGAWA Kimio (Hypolygon Inc.)
Hypolygon Inc. is a creative studio with a track record of producing metaverses such as Fortnite and is one of the top studios in Japan. Their notable works include the official map “Hikakin Escape” for popular video creator Hikakin, and the official map “EIKO!PARTY!!” for comedian KANO Eiko’s EIKO!GO!!

About the Signature Pavilion “Future of Life”

[Pavilion architecture and exhibition space]

　The pavilion’s architecture was designed based on the concept that “life is amplified from the shore.”
Osaka is the “city of water” and water connected inanimate and living things. The shore is where solids, liquids and gases collide, fluctuate and draw boundaries amplifying life. Water and the shore are symbolic elements of the pavilion.
Water flowing from the 12-meter-high roof envelops the pavilion, and as visitors pass through the veil of water, their journey into the future begins.

　The pavilion is made up of three zones. There are about 50 avatars, including androids, robots, and CG characters, using cutting-edge technology, and about 30 of them are featured in the exhibition space.
The introductory zone, Zone 1, “The Journey of Life,” displays the history of how Japanese people have given life to “objects” from ancient times to the present. Zone 2, “50 Years in the Future,” takes place 50 years in the future. Visitors can enter the story and experience how humans coexist with androids and make use of various advanced technology. In Zone 3, “Life 1000 Years in the Future: Mahoroba,” visitors can meet humans 1000 years in the future who have fused with science and technology to be freed from the constraints of the body, in a fantastic space filled with sound and light that evokes the world 1000 years in the future.
