The World’s Newest Nation Sharing a Story of Hope and Renewal
South Sudan is the world’s youngest country, having decided by referendum to become independent from
the Republic of the Sudan in 2011.
It is a landlocked country located in eastern Africa.
The country is expected to grow more due to its oil, mineral resources, fertile land, and abundant water
resources.
The pavilion is comprised of zones focused on its abundant natural resources, wildlife tourism,
productive potential industrials, rich cultural heritage and natural beauty (biodiversity and conservation
efforts), environmental conservation for a sustainable future, and environmental restoration initiatives,
where visitors can learn about the world’s newest country through videos, panels, and exhibits.
