Hi everyone! It’s the “One World, One Planet.” Production team again!
Over the course of three articles, we will share with you some of the background behind the “One World, One Planet.” drone show that lights up the night sky at the Expo, to help you enjoy it even more.
In this second article, we will introduce the “Wish Submission” feature. Check out the previous article for an overview and the story behind the creation of “One World, One Planet.”
In our previous article, we talked about how “One World, One Planet.” is a grand experiment based on the theme of “wishes,” inspired by the idea that if people all over the world could think about other people’s happiness and the future of the Earth, we might be able to connect lives.
This time, we’ll explain how we are collecting wishes.
The “Wishing Fountain” exists within the virtual venue. It’s a fantastical fountain reached by descending through the Tree of Wishes (a tunnel-like space) as if traveling through your own heart. This is where you can post your wishes.
*To participate in the Virtual Expo, you must download the Virtual Expo app and create an avatar.
A ceremony will also be held at the Virtual Expo venue simultaneously with the ceremony at the Expo site at Yumeshima.
Only in the virtual reality can you experience the music, drone footage, and projection mapping images all at once. The original character “RITA,” will also appear in the ceremony in the Virtual Expo.
Don’t miss the performances, which change every month.

You may have seen the QR code that appears after the “One World, One Planet” logo at the end of the drone show, or at the end of the projection mapping on the walls of the EXPO Hall “Shining Hat”.
Scan the QR code with your smartphone to connect to the wish submission site, where you can submit your wish.
This QR code will also be displayed at “One World, One Planet. Square” (in front of the rest area on the north side of the Singapore Pavilion). When you use the rest area or pass by, please post your altruistic wish for the future.
Finally, let’s take a look at what happens when you post a wish.
Some of the submitted wishes will be displayed via projection mapping on the wall of EXPO Hall “Shining Hat” and on the “One World, One Planet. Square”. If you’re lucky, your wish may be featured, so keep an eye out!
*Personally identifiable information will not be displayed.
Additionally, every time a certain number of wishes have been submitted, the frequency of the drone show’s special “Flash Wish Tree” will increase (drones equipped with flash modules that are approximately six times brighter than conventional LED lights will fly over part of the tree).
Why not add a little extra to the drone show by posting your wishes?

From Tuesday 1 July to Sunday 31 August, “One World, One Planet.” is recruiting individuals and organisations to join us as “One World, One Planet. Wish Partners” to collect and deliver wishes from around the world.
CHIKAKEN, a bamboo lantern production group, previously served as a “One World, One Planet. Wish Partner” from Thursday 3 to Monday 7 July. They helped collect wishes by decorating “One World, One Planet. Square” with special Tanabata-themed decorations.
Additionally, from Tuesday 1 to Monday 7 July to July, we held a Tanabata event in collaboration with 24 domestic pavilions, where we invited visitors to write their wish on a strip of paper.
We hope to collect many more wishes through initiatives like these, so if you’re interested, please click here to find out more about becoming a “One World, One Planet. Wish Partner.”
We encourage you to post your wish for the future and reflect on them as you participate in the ceremony.
In our next edition, EXPO Events Producer KOBASHI Kenji will talk about his vision for the future through “One World, One Planet.”
See you then!
