2024.07.19 Call for applications for on-site Food and Drink Shops, Merchandise Shops (third round of calls), and EXPO Food Truck operators! Final Call for on-site sales shops.

The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) will start accepting applications for businesses to operate food and drink shops, merchandise shops, and EXPO Food Trucks at the venue of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”) on 19 July.
The Association plans to set up food and drink shops and merchandise shops at the Expo site. We have selected candidate operators for 80% of the outlets during the past two rounds of applications. Although we will continue to call for applications for some additional shops, such as food courts and service shops, in the future, this will be the last round of applications on a multi-unit scale.  
The EXPO food trucks will be required to reduce waste by using reusable or compostable tableware in accordance with the EXPO 2025 Green Vision. Each food truck will have a unique menu enhancing the appeal of the area and satisfying visitors’ needs for food and drink.
A wide range of businesses will participate in the on-site commercial facilities, offering a wide variety of industries, business formats, and shops to meet the needs of visitors throughout the Expo period.

  ・Food and Drink Business Participants:
   The Association is looking for businesses to operate food and drink shops that will provide hospitality to visitors from around the world and that will serve as symbols that embody the concept and theme of the Expo.
  ・Merchandise Shop Business Participants:
   The Association is looking for businesses to operate shops that provide goods and services appropriate to the Expo and bring a lively atmosphere to the venue.

2) EXPO Food Trucks
[Application details]
Food trucks are shops that respond to the quick meal demand of visitors as they circulate around the venue with dishes that are unique to each food truck. The food trucks are arranged in groups of four at six different locations around the venue. As part of the Expo’s commitment to reduce waste and contribute to the environment, the food trucks will use only reusable or compostable tableware. Cooking in food trucks must be done using induction heating/electric cookers, and naked flames are not permitted. The Association is looking for businesses to operate food trucks throughout the exhibition.
Note: We plan to operate four food trucks per area. Please note that a separate application should be submitted for each area. Please note that applications with less than four units per area (1-3 units) will not be accepted.
