Information is provided below on how to purchase admission tickets, enter the Expo site, and make the most of your visit inside.

How to Purchase Admission Tickets

Purchasing Printed Tickets/Ticket Vouchers at Convenience Stores or Travel Agencies
Admission tickets for the Expo are not only available online on the official ticket website but can also be purchased as printed tickets or ticket vouchers via the multi-function terminals at convenience stores in Japan as well as at travel agencies.
Two types of tickets are on sale:
▶Tickets that you can purchase by specifying the date and time of your visit (printed tickets/ticket vouchers with a specified date/time)
▶Ticket vouchers that allow you to visit any time after 11:00 without the need to specify the date and time of your visit (reservable ticket vouchers), except on expected peak days*

*Expected peak days: Golden Week (26 April – 7 May); Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays beetween1 June and 8 August; August after the “Obon” holiday period (9 August – 31 August); and the final month of the Expo (13 September – 13 October)
(Visitors purchasing tickets with a designated visit date and time can select any day, including peak days when crowds are expected.)

Even if you decide to go to the Expo at the last minute, you can still purchase tickets a few days in advance or outside the gates on the day of your visit.
Tickets without a specified visit date/time (reservable ticket vouchers) can also be given as gifts for family, friends, etc.
After purchase, you can access the official ticket site to make or change a visit date and time reservation, and even make reservations on expected peak days if available.
As explained below, there are many ways that you can enjoy the Expo to the fullest even without making advance reservations for pavilions, etc. However, if you wish to ensure entrance to specific pavilions, you can make advance reservations for pavilions, etc. on the official ticket site.
Major travel agencies can arrange tickets in addition to transportation and accommodation. Some agencies organise bus tours from the Kansai area as well as trips from distant locations, so please take advantage of these services.
About Printed Tickets/Ticket Vouchers

Purchasing Same-Day Tickets in Front of the Entrance Gates
Although tickets/ticket vouchers can still be purchased on the day of your visit through the official ticket site, convenience stores in Japan, and travel agencies, printed same-day tickets will also be sold at the information centre in front of the entrance gates of the Expo site (Yumeshima) if there are available slots for visit date/time reservations.
We will regularly update the availability of visit date/time reservations, with final information about the start time for the next day’s same-day ticket sales to be announced the day before.
Since ticket availability is limited depending on the visit date/time reservation status, and the queues at the entrance gates will likely be longer than for those who purchase tickets in advance, we recommend purchasing printed tickets/ticket vouchers sold at convenience stores or travel agencies before visiting the Expo site.

Entering the Expo Site

Please come to the Expo site via Yumeshima Station on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line (enter through the East Gate) or the shuttle bus from JR Sakurajima Station (enter through the West Gate). It takes about 30 to 35 minutes to get to the Expo site from JR Shin-Osaka Station, making to possible for visitors from the Kansai area to make day trips to the Expo site.
Ticket vouchers purchased at convenience stores in Japan or travel agencies must be exchanged for same-day tickets (with QR code) at the information centre in front of the entrance gates before entry.
(If you purchase a same-day ticket (with QR code) at the information centres in front of the entrance gates, you can use it as-is for direct entry.)
You will also receive important Expo site guidelines when exchanging or purchasing tickets.

Enjoying Activities at the Expo Site

The Expo site will feature numerous pavilions from Japan and abroad, as well as a wide variety of events that change daily, including National Days and Special Days held by Official Participants. For certain pavilions and events, we recommend making advance reservations through the website in order to guarantee access, but there are many pavilions and events that you can enjoy without a reservation.

Examples attractions that do not require reservation
The Grand Ring, joint pavilions and walk-through pavilions including Official Participant pavilions, the Future Life Village, the “One World, One Planet.” daily evening event, exhibition-type events, and events on small stages.

You can also register for (reserve) the pavilions you want to see on the day using terminals installed at the information centres on the Expo site. The information centres will provide support in operating the terminals and information on pavilions that can be entered without a reservation.

<Same-Day Registration Process>
▶Use a terminal to register pavilion/event reservation information to your entrance ticket (with QR code) that you used to enter the Expo site (same-day registration).
▶At your reserved time, go to the pavilion/event you registered for that day and enter using your same-day ticket (with QR code).
▶After finishing a pavilion or event, you can register for another pavilion/event on the same day, making for a full day of excitement.

You can also explore the Grand Ring, walk around the Expo site, enjoy multiple pavilions and events, and have meals on site with a need to make any reservations.
Here is an example of how you could spend your day at the Expo site:

Please note that all payments for shopping and dining at the Expo site are cashless, but various prepaid transportation cards and credit cards will be widely accepted.

Recommendations

Expos generally tend to be more crowded in the latter half of their duration, so visiting in the first half of the Expo period (especially on weekdays), such as in April or May when the weather is pleasant, is highly recommended as you can comfortably enjoy many of the pavilions and events.
In April and May, except during the Golden Week period (26 April to 7 May), you can generally visit freely after 11:00 without reservations using the ticket vouchers without a specified date and time (reservable ticket vouchers) that are sold at convenience stores, etc., even on weekends.

Other Information

On the official ticket site, you can have your family and friends purchase tickets, reserve a visit time and date, and enter the lottery for pavilion/event reservations on your behalf.
You do not necessarily have to visit the Expo site together with the person who purchased a ticket for you. As long as you have a printout of the ticket with the QR code on it, you can still enter the site, access reserved pavilions/events, and make same-day registrations (reservations) for pavilions/events. Please feel free to make use of this.
