2025.06.06 (Apology and Notice) Suspension of Water Shows at the Water Plaza

On Wednesday 4 June 2025, it was announced that concentrations of Legionella bacteria exceeding the  standard values set by the “Guidelines for the Prevention of Legionnaires Disease” were detected in the seawater at the Water Plaza. The concentrations measured today, Friday 6 June, are still above the standard set by the Guidelines.

This information was immediately reported to the Osaka City Public Health Centre (Venue Sanitation Monitoring Centre), which advised us to continue to keep the fountain turned off and to continue to take measures to remedy the situation. Based on this advice, the daytime Water Plaza performance “A Symphony of Air and Water” and the evening performance “Under the Midnight Rainbow” will be cancelled for the time being until the water quality has improved and this level of quality is maintained consistently.

We deeply apologise to all the visitors who were looking forward to the performance.

The Association will continue to take measures to improve water quality in cooperation with the Osaka City Public Health Centre.
We will announce the resumption of these performances at a later date.
