The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) is taking the following measures to control water quality and the hygiene of buildings and facilities at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan site (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo Site”).
The Association will continue to prioritise the safety of visitors, comply with all relevant laws and regulations, and work with the Venue Hygiene Monitoring Centre operated by Osaka City to control hygiene at the Expo site so that visitors can enjoy their visit with peace of mind.
Water Quality Control at the Expo site
Tap water is tested for residual chlorine levels and other water quality parameters at the supply facilities every day before opening to ensure the safety of the water.
〇Facilities using tap water
- Air-conditioning and drinking facilities including cooling towers and humidification equipment inside buildings at the Expo site.
- Mist generators for cooling the pathways at the Expo site
- Mist regularly generated in the Inochi Park located near the centre of the Grand Ring, etc.
〇Facilities using recycled water from tap water, rainwater, etc.
- Some facilities, such as flush toilets and some water basins, which do not generate aerosols and are not expected to result in the direct inhalation of aerosols.
(Management of Buildings and Facilities at the Expo site)
The maintenance and management, including inspection, cleaning and disinfection of cooling towers and humidifying equipment in buildings, drinking water (including water storage tanks), rainwater and seawater when used as miscellaneous water (including water tanks and filtration equipment), water coolers and mist generators, etc., is carried out in accordance with the “Site Sanitation Implementation Plan for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan” and relevant guidelines.
