2025.07.28 MYAKU-MYAKU Monument in Front of Osaka City Hall To Be Relocated the Expo Site

MYAKU-MYAKU monument in front of Osaka City Hall

In cooperation with Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City, the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition will relocate and install the MYAKU-MYAKU monument (lying-down pose) from its original location in front of Osaka City Hall to the “Wind Plaza” near the West Gate of the Expo site on 30 July, 2025.

This MYAKU-MYAKU monument was originally installed in front of Osaka City Hall in December 2023. It has since become a beloved symbol of the Expo for Osaka residents as well as visitors from around Japan and the world. Now, to further liven up the Expo as it enters its second half, the monument will be relocated to the Expo site.
As the third large-scale MYAKU-MYAKU monument installed at the Expo site*, it is expected to serve as both a popular photo spot and a place for visitors to relax. Nearby attractions such as the EXPO Arena “Matsuri,” the “MYAKU-MYAKU Plush Toy Lottery,” and the “EXPO Sunset Beer Terrace” — along with the newly relocated monument — are expected to further enhance the festive atmosphere of the Expo.

Please note that the relocation date may change without notice due to weather conditions or other circumstances.

*Since the opening of the Expo, two MYAKU-MYAKU monuments have been installed within the Expo site: a standing statue in front of Pop-up Stage West and a kneeling statue in front of Pop-up Stage East (outside).
