Report of Incident at the Demolition Site
At around 8:15 am on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, an incident occurred in which a worker became trapped under a steel unit material during handling operations at the demolition site of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
Demolition has been suspended and Shima Co., Ltd (Naniwa-ku, Osaka) will investigate the cause of the incident and consider measures to prevent recurrence.

Casualties
While attempting to remove a steel unit material at a demolition site of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, a worker was caught under a steel frame that had been propped upright. The worker sustained injuries, including to the right ankle.
