Deep Bonds and Rich Traditions on a Small Island
Located south of the equator in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, Nauru is the third-smallest country in
the world in terms of area after Vatican City and Monaco.
For nearly 3,000 years, Nauru has cultivated a unique culture that blends elements of Micronesia,
Melanesia, and elsewhere.
The pavilion includes exhibits on coral fossil protrusions called pinnacles (limestone pillars), a distinctive
topological feature of Nauru, miniatures, and Nauru’s beloved traditional crafts and attire.
There is also a kids’ area for colouring and garland-making workshops.
