[Start times have been updated]
The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) is pleased to announce that the “Japan Fireworks Expo” will be held at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
The Japan Fireworks Expo will showcase Japan’s world-class pyrotechnics, and the appeal of fireworks displays, an iconic part of Japanese culture.
Fireworks displays in each region have their own unique characteristics and are deeply connected to local culture and traditions, with many fireworks displays having a 100-year history. There are fireworks festivals that started as a memorial for those who died in famines and epidemics, and as a prayer for the eradication of bad diseases. Some fireworks festivals started as a symbol of reconstruction after wars and earthquakes and were held to mourn the loss of loved ones and to express wishes for peace. There are also competitions in which pyrotechnicians from all over the country gather to compete in skill and artistry. At some fireworks competitions, fireworks are launched near sacred Shinto shrines to create a solemn and special atmosphere.
Through the Japan Fireworks Expo, we hope to share the Japanese pyrotechnic techniques and culture with the world, and to help people rediscover the charms of Japan. We look forward to inviting many visitors to experience the splendour of Japanese fireworks during the Expo. We hope that the art of Japanese fireworks and the stories behind them will deeply touch your hearts and create a special moment for you.

Comment from Ikimonogatari
YOSHIOKA Kiyoe
OTSUKA Ai debuted a little earlier than us. Unique, cute, and powerful – she’s an artist with countless charms! We’re really looking forward to meeting her on stage at the festival!
MIZUNO Yoshiki
When Ikimonogakari finally had our first solo live concert in Kanagawa, OTSUKA Ai was already being featured on TV. I used to think of her as our senior who was the same age. But now she’s my friend who is the same age. I’m really glad to share the stage with her. Of course, we’ve been thoroughly preparing for our own performance, but I’ve also been secretly practicing the song we wrote with Ms. OTSUKA on piano!
Comment from OTSUKA Ai
I’m honoured that Ikimonogatari have invited me to join them for this exciting event in our hometown of Osaka. We are preparing to deliver an entertaining performance filled with love, featuring songs that are perfect for the hot summer, at the Expo, where people from around the world will gather to sing together.
